Hi! Thank you for visiting! I'm Arlene, an activist, artist, attorney, author, educator, humanitarian, podcast host and the Creative Director of ArlieSpeaks Media, LLC.
I help people elevate LUV = love + unity + vision to transform environmental, racial and social justice issues to solutions through art, advocacy, education and communication. I help children and adults build self-esteem, compassion, confidence, empathy and communication skills.
I love quotes! Rumi is one of my favorites! I strongly believe his quote, "Your task is not to seek for LOVE, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."
My life and work is about removing barriers to LUV. I am thankful for my community and collaborators who help me achieve my goal of helping others.

No Yawning in Public™ is our platform and call to action promoting environmental, racial and social justice. Arlene, an activist and humanitarian, volunteers to help those in need - this includes our Planet. This commitment involves planting trees in New Zealand; serving the Citizens Climate Lobby; calling and assisting the elderly and those in need through the Baltimore Neighbors Network, providing free legal services to the Immigration Justice Project for detainees seeking parole; tutoring children to read through Reading Partners Baltimore; and, most recently, the Grassroots Law Project. Beyond trees and people, Arlene focuses upon advocacy to protect wild horses.
Arlene's previous work included helping the homeless; teaching women to dress for success, secure jobs and create businesses to transition from welfare to work; tutoring children in public speaking, reading and math; representing children in need free legal services; mediating community disputes; and creating food drives. From the current and previous experiences, Arlene is aware of many opportunities for people to connect to ELEVATE themselves and others.

In an evolution of LUV, Arlene partnered with Musician Tim Ellis to create an anti-bulllying song of healing, Choose Love. The word "evolution" applies because it was out of LUV for Choose Love came into existence. Arlene wrote poetry, casually, beyond her children, inspirational and legal writing before lyrics and ideas for melodies. Choose Love is a reggae-dubstep song for more than children and for the current World - only "LUV can put the pieces back together."
Music brings people together. And, music crosses barriers to build community and inclusion. Beyond the rhythms, music also helps to create calm, balance, peace and healing. Our music is about making everyone feel embraced and able to leave negativity, fear, and unhappiness behind.
New releases, coming soon, include meditations and inspiration. Choose Love is available on all streaming platforms.
